But now and for the foreseeable future our competition is globally. The South Bend-Elkhart region has the potential to become THE leader in advanced manufacturing in North America but getting there will require cooperation and openness amongst this region’s manufacturers. The purpose of the Industry 4.0 awards is to recognize and incentivize the best advanced manufacturing implementations in the region, including awards for best automation implementation, best robotics implementation and others.
